reflecting six months into the first Results Canada Fellowship

July 2021 - Only six months ago, in the middle of a pandemic, we welcomed our first-ever cohort of energized advocates thanks to the launch of our Results Canada Education and Advocacy Fellowship Program. Since then, fellows have become a driving force of advocacy for our issues: in a short time they have published letters to the editor and op-eds, engaged with parliamentarians (Members of Parliament and senators), organized successful activities, have inspired others to take action, have created local groups of volunteers and more.

Volunteers go above and beyond for World Tuberculosis (TB) Day despite the pandemic

March 2021 - Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, Results Canada volunteers made it clear on World TB Day (March 24, 2021) that they care about ending tuberculosis (TB). They demonstrated their collective voice by taking action to light up a record number of landmarks in red, securing Mayor proclamations, and gaining media attention.

April 2021 - Results volunteers are awesome! For National Volunteer Week, we wanted to take the opportunity to highlight some of many passionate and dedicated volunteers who continuously give their time to advocate for a world free of extreme poverty. Our volunteers come from across Canada, forming groups and taking action within their communities. February 2021 - “I am beyond ecstatic to be the winner of the Outstanding Youth Award! I think a lot of young people, like me, often struggle with imposter syndrome, so this award shows that any action, no matter how small, is valuable.”

The surging concern of global inequalities propelled me to advocate and champion positive change for extreme poverty. Roshelle Filart - 2020 volunteer award winner

November 2020 - “Time is one of the most precious commodities that we have in this modern, technologically driven world. I choose to give my time to volunteer with Results because the return on investment of a relatively small amount of time spent learning about global poverty issues, writing letters and meeting with decision-makers can be huge in terms of collective global change.” says Roshelle who has been a volunteer since 2009 and was a co-leader of the Toronto group until 2018.

October 2020 - “When Prime Minister Trudeau recently announced renewed funding for GAVI and GPEI, this was another high point in my time with Results Canada. Just to know that all of us across Canada played a major role in achieving this, is certainly something of which I am very proud.” says Jeanette from the Victoria BC group.
