Introducing our Volunteer Ambassadors! These leaders are the powerhouses that fuel our passionate advocates and elevate our advocacy efforts to make a lasting impact. Equipped with advocacy and leadership training, they will collaborate with group leaders, volunteers, and staff in our mission to end extreme poverty. Volunteer Ambassadors will lead our monthly Action Kick Offs and share their experiences and skills as leaders with current and future volunteers. Together they will enhance the volunteer experience by leading example in advocacy and action. Let's meet them:
Nashaat is passionate about creating meaningful social change and advocating for the end of extreme poverty. Transitioning from a role as a provincial leader to a volunteer ambassador excites him because it allows him to continue contributing to these vital causes in a new capacity. His experience in mobilizing communities, coordinating advocacy efforts, and building relationships with key stakeholders has prepared me to amplify our collective impact with Results Canada. He believes that this partnership is the perfect platform to drive progress and inspire others to take action.
Inaya has had the pleasure of volunteering with Results Canada since 2019. Starting as a general member and eventually becoming the co-leader of the downtown Toronto group, she greatly enjoyed working with volunteers from impressively diverse backgrounds and perspectives to advocate for social justice and policy through letters to the editor and parliamentary engagement. In 2023, as a provincial leader, she expanded my role by interacting with volunteer groups and leaders from across Ontario, working with them to facilitate volunteer engagement and advocacy.
Now, as a volunteer ambassador, she is excited to broaden her reach by working with volunteers across Canada to expand our advocacy efforts. In her experience with Results, every volunteer brings a unique perspective to each campaign, contributing both to advocacy and to improving policy and social justice outcomes. As a volunteer ambassador, she looks forward to witnessing the growing passion among our volunteers!
Meet Maha, a Results Canada fellow and globe-trotting problem-solver with a passion for making the world a bit fairer.
With 17 years of experience under her belt, Maha's been busy crafting international cooperation programs that empower women and boost youth employment across Africa. Armed with a Master's in Strategic Marketing and a fresh MBA, she's all about mixing book smarts with real-world savvy.
Maha's secret sauce? Creating synergies between governments, diverse actors, and local communities to whip up sustainable solutions. When she's not knee-deep in development projects, you'll find her volunteering as a mentor for budding entrepreneurs and championing women's causes, and eagerly learning from every interaction.
A mom to a lively toddler, Maha knows a thing or two about multitasking and perseverance. As a Results Canada fellow and volunteer ambassador, she's ready to roll up her sleeves, bring her positive energy, and contribute to tackle global challenges with a blend of expertise and heartfelt dedication.
Amanda was recently asked why she thought advocacy was important. She had so many answers to that question, but the fundamental answer is that advocacy is and will always be important as long as there are inequities and social injustices in the world. Extreme poverty is not caused by lack of resources, but rather by the misallocation of those resources.
Her experience as a Results Canada volunteer and fellow has been nothing but enriching. From using her voice on social media to engaging with parliamentarians to writing letters to the editor, she has witnessed first-hand the impactful change that advocacy can create. She has come to know that when ordinary voices join together for a common cause, the impact they can create is tremendous. She is a firm believer that Results Canada volunteers should continuously remind leaders that a world without extreme poverty is possible and guide them on how to reach it.
And now, she is beyond excited to add her voice as a Volunteer Ambassador.
Muskaan has always been passionate about giving back to the community and building relationships rooted in empathy. As a first-generation Canadian and a Sikh-Punjabi woman, her identity has profoundly shaped her commitment to community service. Her academic pursuits in Political Science and Women and Gender Studies at Brock University reflect her interest in gender equality and international affairs, with an intersectional approach.
Over the past year, she has served as a Results Fellow and a provincial leader, and she is excited to step into the role of Volunteer Ambassador.
You can meet these Volunteer Ambassadors at our inaugural Action Kick-Off on Thursday, September 5th. Learn more and register here.
