“Results has a such a lean and efficient model… it’s remarkable how much they’ve done.” Jim Yong Kim, former president, World Bank
With heart and hard work, we have contributed to some of the world’s biggest wins in the fight to end extreme poverty – from cutting child deaths in half and lifting more families out of poverty to ensuring millions more kids have access to education.
Already in 2019, we have seen Canada increase its investment in the Global Fund
to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria by 15.7%, from CAD $804 million (2017 – 2019) to CAD $930.4 million (2020 – 2022), an investment that will contribute to 16 million lives saved. Volunteers sent countless letters to Members of Parliament (MPs); hundreds of media pieces were published; and high-impact meetings were organized with government decision makers and in communities across Canada.
It’s like the pebble effect, but extremely powerful. One of the main reasons volunteers advocate for Results is because of the impact. We are not just doing one little thing, we are asking for 450 million dollars.
- Doris, Results volunteer
Every win fuels us up and inspires us to work even harder to sharpen our strategies and our tactics, and educate, inspire and equip people with the tools they need to combat poverty. Change is possible.
