IMPORTANT: This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program which requires applicants to be aged between 15 and 30 at the beginning of the employment period, be legally entitled to work in Canada and have a valid Social Insurance Number. International students are not eligible.

The Public Engagement Intern will play a key role in supporting and expanding our Canada-wide network of volunteer advocates committed to taking action against extreme poverty. They will support the recruitment and coordination of the 2026 Summer/Fall Fellowship Cohort. This includes helping review applications, sit in on interviews, and assist with onboarding and program logistics.

responsibilities

  • Fellows Coordination Support
    • Assist with onboarding fellows
    • Maintain accurate fellowship records and databases.
  • Event & Program Support
    • Help set up and manage logistics for Zoom meetings
    • Gather and organize feedback from events to support program improvement.
  • Evaluation & Impact
    • Collect and analyze progress reports from Fellows.
  • Administrative & General Support
    • Attend team meetings, take minutes, and track action items.
    • Assist in creating and maintaining Fellowship resources such as guides, presentations and run of show
  • Other duties as required.

requirements

  • Experience or willingness to learn about advocacy and international development issues.
  • Experience with volunteering and/or knowledge of volunteer management best practices
  • Tech savvy and comfortable working in a digital world. Experience with online platforms like Zoom, Slack, Google Suite is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral presentation skills – outgoing motivator and problem-solver.
  • Respect for diversity and commitment to creating an environment that values inclusiveness and respect.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

work environment

Results Canada operates as a hybrid work environment with staff working from home and our Ottawa office as required. We encourage fully remote candidates (outside Ottawa-Gatineau) to apply for this role.
