Volunteers Amal and Anjali lead innovative hackathon
January 2022 - Following the Nutrition for Growth Summit in December 2021, co-leaders for Results Canada's Online Group, Amal and Anjali, hosted the first-ever Resultsathon on December 11-12! The volunteer-led hackathon event provided a unique problem-solving opportunity for volunteers to share and broaden their knowledge of advocacy work by creating innovative solutions to address the global challenges of malnutrition.

Our advocacy has impact but more is needed to address the malnutrition crisis
December 2021 - On December 7, the N4G Summit kicked-off. Minister Sajjan announced a financial contribution of CAD$195 million. A portion of this funding is part of the $520 million pledged at the launch of the Nutrition for Growth Year of Action a year ago.

reflecting six months into the first Results Canada Fellowship
July 2021 - Only six months ago, in the middle of a pandemic, we welcomed our first-ever cohort of energized advocates thanks to the launch of our Results Canada Education and Advocacy Fellowship Program. Since then, fellows have become a driving force of advocacy for our issues: in a short time they have published letters to the editor and op-eds, engaged with parliamentarians (Members of Parliament and senators), organized successful activities, have inspired others to take action, have created local groups of volunteers and more.

July 2021 - When asked what Canada should do in its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Françoise Bigirimana draws on her experience working with HIV: “The current context of the COVID-19 vaccine brings me back to the mid-1990s when HIV treatment was effective in Europe and North America, but there was no capacity for it in low-income countries. It was so sad to see a huge number of people dying in my country (Burundi). The inequity to treatment was so high, despite the virus having no border.”

Volunteers, we care about your wellbeing
June 2021 - Over a year ago, volunteers everywhere had to adjust to new virtual ways of taking action because of the COVID-19 pandemic. With more online opportunities came Zoom fatigue and additional mental health challenges. It is easy to feel stressed out by our current realities. This is a reminder of the importance of self-care as a volunteer advocate year-round. Please make time to reset and take great care of yourself.
