December: #ChampionChildrenInEmergencies

As we approach the end of the year, let's reflect on the incredible impact we've had in 2023, while continuing to advocate for a brighter future for children living in emergencies around the world. In early December, Canada has the opportunity to champion children in emergencies by renewing investment in quality education at the upcoming Global Refugee Forum.

June: #GameChangers

At the Summit for a New Global Financial Pact, Canada must reaffirm its commitment to supporting an inclusive global economic recovery post the COVID-19 pandemic by increasing rechanneling of its SDRs to low- and middle-income countries in
Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean from 18% to 40%. In addition, Canada must champion the inclusion of natural disaster and pandemic debt suspension clauses in all new loans to low- and middle-income countries.

We call on Canada to use its leadership and political capital at the World Bank to take bold, creative, and ambitious actions to ensure the world’s low-income and crisis-affected countries have access to the financing they need to ensure the health and livelihoods of their populations.

April: #GameChangers

Canada must not step back from global leadership in international development at a time when we should have stepped up. The Government must be a #GameChanger and #KeepThePromise it made to increase international aid and allocate additional new resources for programs that will advance children’s access to nutritious food, education, healthcare, and protection.

March: #YesWeCanEndTB

Canada must maintain its investment in TB REACH by committing at least CAD$33 million over three years to ensure that communities affected by tuberculosis can access the care they need and to help realize the Sustainable Development Goal target of eliminating TB by 2030.

February: #KeepThePromise

To kick off 2023, we are calling on volunteers and partners across Canada to urge the government to #KeepThePromise to increase investments in #Budget2023 towards the International Assistance Envelope every year until 2030 to realize the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In February, we focus our attention on TB and the need for investment in TB REACH.
