I’m thrilled to join Results Canada’s mission to help eradicate extreme poverty and create a more stable globe.
I hold a BA in Communication from Ontario Tech and a joint Communications & Culture MA from TMU and York University, plus a background in non-profit communications through positions at the Ottawa Festival Network, Ottawa Fringe, and Arts Consultants Canada. I’m also a musician who Ottawa residents can occasionally catch performing at local venues like Live On Elgin.
Having lived below the poverty line in my past, I bring a lived experience of the challenges those surviving on low incomes face – with the understanding that those who live in extreme poverty face even starker choices and require even more urgent interventions. Being the son of an immigrant mother, and the grandson of immigrants on my father’s side, has influenced my deeply pluralist values and internationalist worldview.
I enjoy thinking about the ideas and systems that shape our world, and how small changes in goals or perspectives – even the metaphors we choose to explain things – can have large downstream consequences. My personal motto is to always try to go one step farther and one level deeper than ‘good enough’.
When I’m not working or doing something related to music, I’m often reading, catching a movie, having an interesting conversation with a friend, or strolling somewhere around the canal.
