Hello everyone! My name is Robin and I’m the new Policy and Advocacy Officer at Results Canada.
I've been building a career in international development and humanitarian work for a few years now, but my inspiration goes much further back. I’m Canadian, but I lived the first 14 years of my life in seven European and Central Asian countries. The privilege of being raised in diverse settings provided me with an inherent international awareness, which has had a powerful impact on my personal values and has ultimately driven my dedication to this field.
I recently completed my Masters degree in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies at the London School of Economics and Political Science. I’ve previously worked on the Humanitarian Affairs Team at Médicins Sans Frontières (MSF) Canada and earlier this year, I completed a 3-month fellowship with Youth Challenge International in Northern Ghana working on a gender equality development project.
As a Policy and Advocacy Officer, my particular focus is the economic inclusion pillar of Results’ work. This position is designed to build our economic inclusion work at a time when the sector grapples with immense funding challenges, and I’m excited to contribute to the important work of development and humanitarian finance.
Outside of work, you can find me reading the next book on my shelf and staying active in the gym, the pool, or outside on a hike. I’ve had the huge privilege to travel a lot in my life and it’s something I hope to continue. One of my favourite things is taking my camera along and trying to capture the character of each new place I see. I hope to visit as many places as I can throughout my life (37 countries and counting!).
