TAKE ACTION ALERT: Dear Prime Minister, protect Canada's global reputation and wellbeing!

By: Results Canada Published: 13/11/2025

The Prime Minister must make a strong Canadian pledge to the Global Fund and attend its Replenishment Summit.

On November 21, leaders and advocates will gather in Johannesburg for the Eighth Replenishment Summit for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. In that short time, we have an urgent mission: to ensure Prime Minister Mark Carney attends and commits to the future of the Fund and our world.

When others retreat, Canada must be a leader that others can count on.

Canada is working hard to build new trade relationships and allies and we need to position ourselves as a trusted partner. The Global Fund is the ticket to ending the world's deadliest infectious diseases and Canada has always shown up in this fight. This is not the time to step back from our commitments to global health and international solidarity.

By investing in the Global Fund, we demonstrate that we are reliable, compassionate, and forward-thinking while building a stable, healthy world that benefits us all.

As the current G7 president, Canada’s strong pledge will also set an important example for other nations to follow, demonstrating that even in challenging economic times, it is possible to lead with vision and integrity.

Together, we can ensure that Canada steps up and continues to protect:

  • the wellbeing of Canadians
  • our global reputation
  • the 23 millions lives that will be saved by a fully-funded Global Fund
  • the stability of the world
