In the new year, we are predicted to see for the first time in this century a mass death toll of children before their fifth birthdays, given the fact that around 4.8 million children under the age of five died in 2025. Extreme poverty is one of the main factors of this unfortunate outcome.
This stellar group will be joining us over the next 5 months, taking on hands-on training to develop their advocacy skills and generate the political will to end extreme poverty – get to know them!
For decades, Canada has played a pivotal role in reducing extreme poverty. Today, cuts to international assistance as global needs rise put those gains at risk. Drawing on 40 years of advocacy, we call on leaders to defend the progress we’ve made.
