#LeadOnTB advocacy day and reception on Parliament Hill!

By: Results Canada Published: 23/07/2025

While Canada has been a champion for tuberculosis (TB) elimination efforts through sustained investments in The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and the Stop TB Partnership's TB REACH initiative, we are falling short on both global and national commitments.

Canada has failed to meet its fair share contribution to research and development for TB every year since the UN targets were set in 2018, and domestic investments are insufficient to end TB within our borders, which disproportionately affects Indigenous and newcomer populations. However, there are many opportunities this year for Canada to be a leader in the quest to eliminate TB – the world's deadliest infectious disease – at home and abroad! We just need the political will to make it happen.
