Invest to end TB. Save lives.
COVID-19 disruptions to tuberculosis (TB) care resulted in the first year-on-year increase in global TB deaths in over a decade. To raise awareness, the international community is putting the spotlight on World TB Day March 24 to stand in solidarity with the millions of people who suffer from TB and the millions who have lost their lives.
Before March 24 - here’s what you can do:
On World TB Day - here’s what you can do:
- use our social media toolkit
- take a photo or a video with a lit up landmark or monument near you (see list below). If you don’t live near one, take a selfie with a sign including the hashtags #EndTB and #Canada4Results, and share it on social media. Make sure you tag your MP and tell them why this landmark is lit up. Email us your photo and we could use it as part of a recap of the day.
- use social media to amplify published LTEs on TB.
- Share stories about people’s lived experience.
- Tell your friends and family why so many landmarks are lit up in red to recognize World TB Day.
Here’s the list of confirmed landmarks and monuments across Canada that will be lit up in red for World TB Day:
Ontario
British Columbia
Alberta
New Brunswick
Newfoundland and Labrador
Quebec
Manitoba
Nova Scotia
Prince Edward Island
Saskatchewan
Thank you to Results Canada volunteers and Stop TB Canada network partners for joining efforts again this year to mark World TB Day across Canada!
