Role title: Group Volunteer
Number of openings: Unlimited
Location: Join existing groups across the country! No existing groups close to you? Consider starting one as a Group Leader or joining the online group.
Duration: 12 month engagement
Hours: 1-2 hour per week, at times will be demanding, at other times less so.

N.B. This is a voluntary position for which Results Canada does not provide any compensation.

Results Canada is a global movement of passionate everyday people committed to raising our voices for a world without extreme poverty.  We leverage programs and improved policies that give people living in poverty the health, education and opportunity they need to thrive. 

Group Volunteers are members of their city or region’s local group where they collaborate with other group members to support each other in taking action. These volunteers are incredibly passionate, continuously looking to have a bigger impact and make the world a better place.

responsibilities

• Attend and actively participate in the monthly education & action (E&A) meetings
• Take action alongside fellow group members on the current campaign. Examples of actions (but not limited to):
  • engaging with your Member of Parliament by writing or meeting with them (in person or virtually)
  • writing letters to the editor (LTE)
  • organizing events
  • supporting the logistics of the group
  • being active on social media
  • fundraising
  • tabling at an event to talk about Results Canada
• Support fellow volunteers in taking action
• Report on your actions to your Group Leader on a monthly basis

*In the current reality of COVID-19 pandemic, groups are encouraged to decide what they are most comfortable with: they can meet in-person by following the latest local health authority guidelines or virtually.

• Passionate about ending poverty in the Global South
• Committed to take action on a monthly basis
• Excellent at building relationships (even online!) and loves to inspire, develop, and motivate others
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to go out of their comfort zone to create change
• Respect for diversity and commitment to creating an environment that values inclusiveness and respect
