“It gives me an opportunity to be the change we want to achieve” Sarah shares why she joined Results and how she’s motivated to take action for a better world! Volunteering as a Results Regional Leader, Sarah is passionate about people and has made it her purpose in life to help others.
Sarah started to volunteer her time as a teenager by notably supporting children living with HIV/AIDS and has supported many important causes throughout the years. Currently Sarah is very active in raising awareness about the impact of climate change as a coordinator on Africa climate action initiatives. Through her professional career she has also done extensive work in refugee camps in Kenya and worked as a Program Manager to prevent HIV, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria.
Sarah shares a bit about her experience:
“Having worked with people of low-income, I have witnessed people die as they could not afford taking TB and HIV antiretrovirals (ARVs) while they were on empty stomachs due to hunger. I have also been treated for TB before and I know how timely and important it is to have TB treatment funded.”
As a Regional Leader in Ontario, Sarah’s role is to support the sustainability of our volunteer network with a focus on the Toronto area. Sarah volunteers with Results Canada “because it shares the same value as I have on eradicating extreme poverty through advocacy.”
Welcome on board Sarah! We’re glad to have your voice be part of our vision of a world free of extreme poverty!
