Hi, nice to e-meet you! I’m Alif, currently a Communications Officer at Results Canada.
I recently calculated that I’ve spent exactly half my life in Bangladesh (where I’m from) and the other half on the coattails of my father whose work entailed postings in countries like Belgium and South Korea. That’s also where I acquired a taste for travel and a passion for international relations.
I’m an alumna of the Kennedy-Lugar exchange (KL-YES) program as well as Carleton University with a Bachelors in Global and International Studies (BGInS). While I spent half my university days studying history and law, I spent the other half growing a passion for communications studies. Some of my highlights between then and now has been building an online volunteer streaming network with my friends and interning at the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) in Canada.
I like to think of my role at Results as a bridge between the organization and… you! When I’m not brainstorming/building story-telling assets for our campaigns, you can find me tinkering on our socials or signing up for the next trivia night with the team. I count myself quite lucky to have found this group of fun-loving yet kind and passionate individuals from whom I learn so much every day.
Outside of work, you can find me poring over a paint-by-numbers kit, scrolling through organization hacks or reading a tattered copy of Jodi Picoult. A fun fact before I sign off: One summer, I spent a day 100 feet below sea-level and the next day 13000 feet above it!
