Highlighting our Conference #GameChangers

By: Results Canada Published: 24/05/2023

On May 6-8, 2023, Results volunteers, partners, colleagues, and friends travelled to Ottawa from across Canada and around the world to discuss the #GameChangers the world needs to achieve the Global Goals by 2030. The weekend was filled with dynamic conversations that pushed us to think outside the box and inspired us to create an equitable world. Join us in celebrating the game changers who participated in the 2023 Results Canada National Conference:

to our volunteers…

The volunteer awards ceremony was held the evening of May 6th at our Brews and Bites social event. It was a moment for us to recognize and celebrate our volunteer advocates who go above and beyond in their commitment to advocate for ending extreme poverty. These awards remind us about the power of collective actions to create positive change and the profound impact our passionate and selfless volunteers make as game changers. to our parliamentary allies…

Thank you to the dozens of Members of Parliament (MPs) and Results Canada volunteers from across the country who helped make our Day of Action a resounding success. Volunteers met with 31 MPs representing all political parties to discuss Canada’s key role in ending extreme poverty everywhere, particularly in the elimination of tuberculosis and longstanding commitment to the education of women and girls around the world. Special thanks to MPs Peter Julian, Leah Gazan, Lori Idlout and Don Davies who invited all our Results volunteers to Question Period, and to MP John McKay who welcomed Results Canada volunteers to Ottawa.

to our speakers...

The conference would not have been the success it was without our inspiring speakers. These incredible friends of Results travelled from far and wide to share their unique perspectives and expertise and engage with conference participants on how we can be better allies with affected communities and build action towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). You are all truly game changers by ensuring the voices and priorities of marginalized communities are represented in decisions.

to conference participants…

A big thank you to all who took time out of their weekend to travel to downtown Ottawa and collaborate on ending extreme poverty around the world. Whether you’re a longtime Results volunteer or brand new to our network, YOU are a game changer helping to create bold and lasting impact in the world. Keep up the amazing work you do.
