Hi! I’m Gabriel Cassie, Results’ Parliamentary Affairs Manager.
I was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta. For as long as I remember, I’ve been fascinated by politics: by both trying to understand why systems work as they do and how our political action can be effective in changing those systems. In 2015, I caught the campaigning bug. Working in a provincial campaign, and serving as an organizer in a federal campaign, I saw the strength and success that comes from ordinary folks standing in solidarity with one another. I hold a BA in Political Science with minors in Religious Studies and Philosophy from the University of Lethbridge, and a Master of Political Management from Carleton University.
This fall, I am returning to school part-time to study Ethics and Public Affairs at Carleton University. I joined Results in January 2023. From the moment I joined, I have been so inspired and energized by the commitment that everyone at Results – from volunteers to board members – have for our mission. We all see that a world without poverty is possible, and we are all committed to the hard work that will make that a reality. As Results’ Parliamentary Affairs Manager, I work to identify and build relationships with MPs and Senators who share our vision and commitment to a world without poverty.
Outside of work, I spend a lot of my time with my nose in a book, or trying to discover music that’s new or new-to-me. I firmly believe that CDs are the best music format, so I spend too much time burning CDs like it’s still 2005.
