Be part of the international movement and light Canada up in red in support of World Tuberculosis (TB) Day!

expert fact

For over 9,000 years we have been fighting against tuberculosis (TB). With great efforts, we’ve made progress - TB is now preventable and curable. However, action is needed to expand efforts to prevent and cure it as it remains the world’s deadliest infectious disease with more than 4,000 people dying of TB every day. It’s time we end this epidemic – once and for all.

secret tip

Send your light-up request to landmarks at least 6 weeks in advance

Use your voice and tell the world why Canada needs to step up and make Budget 2024 #AChildrensBudget. Record a short video (under 1-minute) outlining key points about why you care about Canada working to ensure that the world is free of poverty, and why it is so important that we #ReachEveryChild.

Why record a video?

We have heard over and over again from MPs and decision-makers that their constituents and Canadians in general don’t care about global issues. We know that this isn’t the case, not only do we all care about how Canada shows up in the world, but we also know that global solidarity and the pursuit of justice, human rights, and peace is the only path forward for a prosperous future.

As we enter 2024 and continue to advocate for a better future for all, we must amplify and mobilize our collective and individual voice to let decision-makers know we care and that we will continue to push until they hear us and take action for a better world.

Once you’ve recorded your video, share it on social media! Pair it with a captivating captions, here’s an example:

  • Stand/sit in front of a neutral background
  • Steady your phone on a solid object (e.g. a tripod, a stack of books etc.) rather than holding it in your hand to reduce movement
  • Keep your camera at eye-level and look at the camera when speaking
  • Avoid wearing busy clothing – solid-colour shirts are best if you have any available
  • Use the EPIC method.
  • Speak from the heart, in a steady voice. Your MP/Minister cares about what you have to say!
