why write an LTE

Write an LTE if you want to make your opinion heard in a timely manner. You don’t need a lot of research, and your LTE can be brief and to-the-point - just 150-200 words! When time is of the essence, choose to write an LTE.

expert fact

Once submitted, you can track your letter by doing an internet search of your name and following up with the publication to find out if/when it is getting published.

secret tip

Your letter doesn’t have to be perfect, and you don’t have to be an expert to have an opinion. You simply need to care.

Call-to-action summary:

By the time you’ve read this page six lives will have been saved by vaccines. However, to #ReachEveryChild with these essential vaccines and put an end to preventable child deaths by 2030, we need ambition and political will. That’s why, starting in July, we will call on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to invest #ForOurFuture by stepping up financial commitments to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and the Global Polio Eradication Initiative to ensure lifesaving vaccine shots reach every child. Where you are born shouldn't determine whether you live. Canada can make this vision a reality.

There are many ways to find out if your MP is hosting a public event in your riding (like a BBQ) over the summer:

  • Check their website
  • Check their social media accounts
  • Sign up for their newsletter if you haven’t already to get notified of any opportunities
  • Email or call their constituency office. Make sure to introduce yourself as a constituent!

At the event, take this opportunity to meet them in person, introduce them to Results Canada, educate them about Gavi and GPEI’s incredible achievements, and tell them how Canada can step up to ensure that life-saving vaccines can reach every child.
